The atmosphere was electric last night at @hindsgavl_festival. Several musicians had already played earlier in the week, and you could feel the deep friendships and musical trust on stage. @carolinwidmannviolin, @danushawaskiewicz, Christian Poltera, and @deniskozhukhin performed Schubert’s Adagio e Rondo Concertante, Lekeu’s unfinished piano quartet, and Schumann’s radiant Piano Quartet in E-flat major. A truly special evening.

- Yes, vulnerability matters. But when feelings become marketing—emotional honesty weaponised for politics or PR—I recoil. Reeves and Starmer’s recent displays show how fine the line is between human and strategic. I want my leaders to feel—but not perform feelings. #Vulnerability #Politics #AuthenticityFatigue

- Last night’s @hindsgavl_festival concert with soprano @christianekarg Karg and pianist Wolfram Rieger —joined by flautist @jeschekjill and cellist Christian Poltéra—was a tour de force of 20th-century art songs. The closing work, Montsalvatge’s Cinco Canciones negras, was tough, sharp and potentially controversial. Stunning. (07/06/2025 14:57:44)
- At @claykeramikmuseumdanmark I saw @benteskjoettgaard exhibition—an imaginative and tactile cosmos of glaze and form. Her sculptural cumulus clouds struck a particular chord, reminding me of @nannadeboisbuhl book Cloud Behaviour, which I read last year. Strange how clouds can feel so weighty. (07/06/2025 14:56:14)
- Visited @claykeramikmuseumdanmark in Middelfart to see A Walk with a Dinosaur by @michaelgeertsen —a fascinating journey through ceramic imagination and art history. I was especially intrigued by the pieces inspired by the Russian avant-garde. As a great admirer of Kazimir Malevich, it was a joy to spot echoes of Suprematism in unexpected forms. - At @hindsgavl_festival , violinist @___johan, cellist @andreasbrantelid_official , and pianist Christian Ihle Hadland performed piano trios by Erich Korngold and Maurice Ravel. Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor was a highlight—especially the first and third movements, which unfolded with extraordinary beauty, quiet intensity, and lyrical depth. A rare moment of stillness in sound. (07/05/2025 15:05:08)
- Between concerts at @hindsgavl_festival, I went for a quick 10K run — from Funen to Jutland and back across the old Little Belt Bridge. A beautiful route with history, sea breeze, and just enough elevation to make the music afterwards feel even more rewarding. (07/05/2025 12:00:00)
- Two unforgettable French-themed concerts at @hindsgavl_festival: First, the @breeze_windquintet quintet with @paloma.kouider.pianist performed Roussel, Debussy, Farrenc, Connesson & Poulenc. The next morning, Kouider returned with Annelien van Wauwe for Pierné, Widor, Saint-Saëns & Poulenc. A celebration of 100 years of French flair for winds and piano. (07/05/2025 09:44:27)
- This morning at @hindsgavl_festival @kristofferhyldig performed Olivier Messiaen’s Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant-Jésus — a 2½ hour uninterrupted solo piano masterpiece. This deeply Catholic work, rich in mystical symbolism and sonic ecstasy, momentarily transported even a devout cultural Protestant into the heart of religious awe. A truly overwhelming experience. - Yesterday’s late-night concert at @hindsgavl_festival was a revelation. @deniskozhukhin all-Liszt solo program culminated in an absolutely overwhelming performance of the B minor Sonata — a journey of drama, depth, and spiritual intensity. Rarely has the piano sounded so infinite. (07/04/2025 06:59:18)
